BACK Professor Yuming Zhu is Vice-Chief of Department of Thoracic Surgery Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, Tongji University School of Medicine. He graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University (now Medical School of Shanghai Jiaotong University ) in 1988. Professor Zhu received Prizes of Provisions of Shanghai on the Encouragement and Reward of Science and Technology, for his great efforts and achievements in minimally invasive thoracic surgery. He also received Prize of Scientific and Technical Achievements of Ministry of Education (Level two). Professor Zhu’s major clinical and research interests include minimally invasive thoracic surgery, lung transplantation, surgery of tracheal tumor, lung cancer, mediastinal tumor, and lung volume reduction. Professor Zhu performed his first single-port VATS lobectomy on May,2012.Till now, He has complete more than 1000 single-port VATS, including single-port VATS lobectomy, segmentectomy, sleeve lobectomy, and pneumonectomy.
